    Not built to last

If you stuff them into your pack for storage, expect the nose piece to eventually break as mine did. I'm getting some Clics.

    Visormag clip on

When you need a little help with your vision. I use them tying flies. They flip out of the way when not in use. I also use them while fishing. Helps me to put a small diameter leader thru the eye of a dry fly hook. Great product.

    I can see!

Posted by Mark on Apr 1st 2019

At the start of the season this year I noticed that I was having issues with tying on smaller flies. I bought a cheap pair of readers to use, but they quickly became a hassle and eventually went for a swim. I searched for an alternative and came across these clip on magnifiers. They work great. Just flip them down when you need them and adjust your hands until things are focused. When you’re done, flip them back up and they are out of the way. They even work great when I have my sunglasses on. I highly suggest these if you are hitting that time in life when things get a little fuzzy.

    Excellent!

At first I thought these glasses would be to heavy for my hat or they wouldn’t fold out of the way enough to fit. But turns out that I had nothing to worry about. The Carson glasses are light and small with good magnifying lenses I can wear all day. I use them to thread small hooks with tippet and examine insects I catch in my seine for color and size to match up with my fly selection. They are excellent for the price and functionality of use.

I should’ve bought the Carson cap magnifier years ago!

I should’ve bought the Carson cap magnifier years ago. There nothing worst than trying to put a 7x tippet into a size 22 fly in the freezing cold. They also help me look at bugs more closely when trying to match the hatch. The pouch they come in keeps them safe and scratch free when I put them back after a day of fishing.

I wish I had gone this way first

Posted by Rstover on Dec 14th 2016

I sure wish I'd bought this simple magnifier first, as it would have given me better results for a lot less money. As a recent convert to fly fishing after many years of no fishing, I've had to buy a lot of new "stuff". Some because of the new style of fishing and some because my physical needs have changed with age. My ability to see closeup to tie tiny flies onto tiny line ain't what it was 20 years ago, so I read a bunch of reviews, looked at many options and went with a $100 pair of polarized sunglasses with magnifiers built in to the bottom of the lenses. They work fine but not in low light and not in high heat or low cold conditions, both of which cause fogging. Bottom line, I still need to be switching glasses. The Cap Magnifiers are the perfect solution for me--I can wear regular shades during the day (that don't fog) and none at all in low light. When I need to see close up, I just flip down these magnifiers and do the job. Results? Less time screwing around and more time fishing.
