    Great multipurpose Switch rod line

Posted by Ian on Jul 25th 2016

I use the 420gr (6WT) on a Sage One 6WT Switch Rod and it works well - loads the rod nicely when Spey casting, and rolls out well when overhead casting. This line provides the flexibility to switch between swinging streamers or indicator nymphing without changing lines or spools etc.. Just change-out the MOW tip and leader and away you go. The head and running line are integrated into one, and there is a short taper between the two to assist mending. The head is really thick (to get the grain weight) so you will need to "oversize" the reel to get the line and a decent amount of backing on - I use a Sage Evoke 8 for the 420gr (6WT).
