Good for small tools like knives and scissors
Posted by Tom #6810590 on Oct 24th 2016
Greetings, Fly Fishers
This tool is a small retractable reel for a knife, nipper, hemostats, keys, or whatever. It is only the diameter of a quarter (about an inch), so it's suitable for small items. It is quite strong for its size and might even retract a fishing net, were it not for the small size and short cord.
It appears to be fairly durable, with a 14-inch stainless "cord." It is black and green and wouldn't reflect sunlight for those sensitive trout you are seeking. The short cord would be its greatest challenge. However, this particular model is a pin-on. Mainly, because I tend to loose items that clip on. The fact that is pins on allows you to put it pretty much where you want it to allow the short cord to give you the length you need to use the tool in question.
Hope you find the review helpful. Happy fly fishing! Tom
