I found that tying a cinch knot was more difficult than the video suggests. I inserted the tool in the loop but as I turned it so the nylon turned and did not twist around the tool. I could make it work by trapping the loop/fly against the tool. Catching the short end of the nylon to bring it through is not quite as easy as the video suggests, partly difficulty in seeing, partly difficulty in manipulating the tool without letting go of the loop trapped against the tool, in which case it would unwind from around the tool. However I persist. Threading the nylon through a fly eye can be tricky too, on a heavily dressed fly, the fly may have to be fiddled around to get the eye in line.
Excellent tying tool

Wanted a tool to use in threading leaders into flies. Found the 3 in 1 tool and after trying it am more than pleased as not only does it help thread leaders/flies but also makes tying cinch knots much easier!
Looks great & arrived quickly!

Have not used it yet but it looks like it will do exactly as advertised, and for someone whose vision is failing and hands shake, it should make the difference between fishing and not.

Handy tool for old geezers.

I was unable to fish during all of 2015 because of damage I developed spontaneously to the median and ulnar nerves in my right hand. Among the ability to perform normal everyday tasks such as writing with a pen or buttoning buttons on a shirt; the nerve damage also robbed me of the dexterity required to execute a clinch knot to tie a fly onto my tippet. Last week, I discovered and ordered the Lake Products Three-in-One Knot Tying Tool. It arrived today. This evening, I’ve been tying clinch knot after clinch knot in my living room. I’m not one to hype products randomly, but this gadget is a game changer. No, not correct – it’s a life changer! Next week I hit the Potomac River for the 2016 shad spawning run with my buddies and my Three-in-One clipped to my fishing vest.
Three-In-One Knot Tool

Very handy tool. Use the surgeons knot tyer all the time. Have started using the nail knot tyer to tie on flies and really like it. Can be awkward when attached to zinger so found a slot in my vest to leave it. Just have to be careful not to drop over moving water which is where I fish! Instructions for use are very simple and easy. Minimal practice will result in extremely fast knot tying on even smallest tippet material. The tippet starter for the hook is an outstanding feature for us old fogies! More I use it, the more I like it!

I bought one of these when I was a kid. I've had it since. Used it countless times, love it. When I stepped on it the other day while playing a fish, I knew I needed another. Don't go out without one, unless you use store bought garbage

Just received my new 3-in-1 knot tool and accompanying set of instructions...This is a great tool that speeds up changing fly rigs, leader connections and much more! Has a handy magnet to retrieve flies from the box and a quick way to attach your tippet to your fly. This was my first order with AvidMax and I'm very impressed with their service.
This tool covers off knots generally used by anglers
