365 days out of the year Caddis flies are available to trout in our Colorado rivers. Even when trout are not inhaling them off the top, they are eating them subsurface. The Electric Caddis is an excellent option for almost any river any time of year. While you may not be seeing blanket hatches, do not underestimate its effectiveness. The Electric Caddis best imitates the American Grannom, or the Green Sedge which has that unmistakable neon green or green body in its larvae stage. If this fly hasn't made its way onto your nymphing rig set up yet, its worth a shot In this week’s episode of Tying Tuesdays, watch as Max ties the Electric Caddis!
