    These hooks are made of a very light gauge wire. This is on purpose, and does lead to bette hook penetration. However, the wire is simply not strong enough to bring a large fish to hand. If you fish light tippets (6x or lighter) and 1-3wt competition style fly rods, you might be okay. But if you fish a 4-5wt rod with 4-5x, these will probably lead to heart break. I can bend them out with one finger at the vise. I recommend going with a model with heavier gauge wire.
