In this week’s episode of Tying Tuesdays, watch as Max ties a variation of the Mighty Midge! This is a great pattern for picky trout. Developed by Umpqua tier Matt McCannel, this fly gets the job done. Tie the Mighty Midge in any color combination and it is sure to turn some fish. Representing a midge larva, this fly should be fished towards the bottom of your rig and in the deeper part of the water column. The flash can be mixed up to match your needs, and makes it stick out as it's bumping along in the current.
