Nice (small oar) tethers but no instructions

Posted by frostyjhammer on Sep 19th 2018

These tethers are nice, but were delivered without any installation instructions. FWIW I removed the oar stops and inserted the oar shaft into the ring, then replaced the oar stop. So now one half of the tether is trapped between the oar stop and the blade. So when the oars come off the boat, the little plastic clip is detached and one half of the tether stays with the oars -- the other half stays on the boat. This boat is a one-man fish cat and the oars are small so I purchased the small size tethers. Don't know if I'd want the plastic clips on full-size oars; I've seen what happens when an oar blade bottoms out in shallow water and the power of a moving raft could easily break anything that size made out of plastic. Overall I'm happy... just not "five star" happy.
