Even though fast (stiff) action fly fishing rods have become more popular over the years you can never replace the pleasure of fishing traditional softer action fly rods. The Classic Trout also known as CT is lightweight with a medium action, perfect for trout fishing and all ability levels. The CT has hidden power for longer casts on larger rivers but still able to lay out a delicate presentation with remarkable accuracy while fishing to rising trout on a secret spring creek. Gain the best of both worlds with Redington's Classic Trout, the performance graphite is known for with a smooth moderate action. Lightweight and medium action lessens fatigue which means LONGER DAYS ON THE WATER!

    Satisfaction

Posted by Vsevolod Seredin on Jul 9th 2018

Elegance is the first word you want to say when you take this rod into your hands. It is elegant, like an English dandy. Only in England fly fishing was a privilege of aristocrats. I am grateful to the United States for the fact that only they made fly fishing accessible to everyone. And yes, I received this rod on July 4th, which is more than symbolic.
I believe that this is the most affordable really high-quality rod among all the rest that is on the market. Owners of the trademark seriously approached the choice of manufacturing for this good. All the elements of the rod are very high quality. Very beautiful color and excellent varnish. The cork handle has no flaws. A very big plus - along with the rod you get a rod tube case and you do not need to think about where to lay rod.
I am very satisfied with the action of this rod. It is not fast, like most modern ones. It's not slow, like my old bamboo. The presentation of dry flies on the water is beautiful. Lightness is amazing. Complete with my new Redington Zero fly reel, this rod can be used all day without fatigue. This combination can be called a classic in modern execution. I think that I found a replacement for all my expensive and cheap rods. I fell in love with him. I am happy as an elephant.
I am not an expert in the fly rods, but I recommend to have this rod in your arsenal, because the quality and possibilities for this money simply impressive.

    Awesome rods

Posted by Jordan on Feb 17th 2017

This is my fourth Redington classic trout and I love everyone of them. I have a 3,4,5, and 6 weight and each one them produces great casts and plenty of fish. The lifetime warranty is an added extra bonus that is great to have in case issues arise or a rod breaks. These rods cast dry flies, nymphs, and even streamers with accuracy and distance when needed. I would recommend this rod to fly fisherman and women of all skill levels.

    Favorite rod

Posted by Jags on Nov 21st 2016

I bought this rod to get into fly fishing, & currently I have a fast action rod. I keep using the Classic Trout more though, & when you find out presentation is more important than distance this rod will be your favorite too. It's awesome & the cast is so easy and the pleasure this rod provides.

    Excellent Rod for the Price

Posted by Adam on Jan 11th 2016

I now have to of these rods in 3 wt. and 5 wt. and bought them to keep in the truck (just in case I happen to have some time to kill). Their flex is perfect and can handle the best of fighters. Redington's Lifetime Warranty for a rod of this price further adds to the excellent value. Casting with the rod is easy on everything from a big sculpin to a tiny dry aiding in delicate presentations. These rods get put through their paces fishing regularly in Colorado year round from -10 to 100 degree days and everything from small over-zealous high mountain trout to bigger fighters. Highly recommend this rod for anyone from beginners to pro's.
