Overview

The Perdichingons is a signature pattern from Umpqua tyer Norman Maktima, a slim, perdigon-style nymph built for quick sink rates. Like other perdigons, the body is slender and coated, so it slices through the water to the bottom and holds up to fish after fish.

Peacock adds a shifting green and bronze shine that reads as a living insect rather than a specific bug. It is made for Euro nymphing but is just as effective under an indicator or on a dry-dropper rig, in clear or slightly stained water, year-round.

• Euro nymphing: fish it as the point fly on a tight line through riffles and fast runs.

• Clear water: its slim profile suits wary trout in low, clear conditions.
