    Great harness

    Posted by L&L on Aug 31st 2017

Got the purple and the turquoise harnesses for my 3 mo. old Sheltie puppies in XS. It's a a little loose now but they'll grow into it. I have a D-clip that I can use to connect their collar to the front hook of the harness for extra security as Shelties like to squirm out of things. This product is extremely well made. I did my research before buying and am so pleased with this purchase.

    Great adventure harness!

Posted by Rachel F on Jun 10th 2017

This is a great harness that fits well, doesn't rub my dog's armpits (a problem we've had with some other harnesses!), is durable, and has a lot of nice features.

Regarding fitting, my dog has a 28" girth and size medium fits him well once it's on. I do have to loosen the front of the harness to get it over my dog's massive head and then re-tighten before we head out the door. The buckles and fasteners seem pretty sturdy, especially for plastic. I like that it fastens on both sides behind the front legs, so my dog doesn't have to step through anything when putting this harness on.

The orange color is great and helps my mostly-black dog become more visible on the road or trail. The harness has some reflective trim that helps with visibility at night, too.

The top leash attachment point is a lightweight metal that seems very sturdy. The front-clip loop looks less reliable, but we haven't had any problems with its durability. The main problem with this loop is that even when the harness is adjusted securely, it tends to rotate when the dog pulls which leaves the rear strap in the dog's armpit and could lead to blisters.

To summarize, this is a great adventure harness for a dog with good leash manners who doesn't need much time with the leash clipped to the front loop, but it's not a good replacement for a training harness for a dog that pulls.

    Ruffwear is "Tough" to beat

Posted by John S on Apr 3rd 2017

This harness has far more pros than it has cons. It is said that the only con pertaining to Ruffwear products is the price. Once you purchase and use one, you will understand the price justifies the quality and you will not be disappointed that you spent the extra money.

I have three dogs, two of whom are escape artists but they have never escaped from a Ruffwear harness. Properly worn, it is impossible for them to wriggle out of it.

We just purchased three Front Range harnesses, one for each dog and the quality is outstanding. The fitting charts that Ruffwear provides are spot on for size and the dogs love the fit. The harness is all day wear comfortable.

Ruffwear even built a pocket into the top of the harness with a Velcro closure to store your pet's ID papers or tag. The connection ring on top of the harness is "never fail" construction. They even included reflective trim for walks later on in the evening or nighttime. In addition, a wide range of colors allows your buddy to be more noticeable. All materials and workmanship are outstanding.

We have Ruffwear Web Master Harnesses for each dog and it is a fantastic harness but may be a bit warm for them in the summer months due to the coverage, thus the Front Range harness which by design will be cooler for the dogs. We live in the Northeast and go back to using the Web Master in the Fall of the year.

You best friend will never be uncomfortable or loose from your control while they wear this harness and you are at the other end of the leash.
These harnesses may seem expensive but once you own one, you will not be sorry you spent the money!
