    Best Coated Shooting Line

Posted by Henry Carlile on Aug 25th 2023

I love mono shooting lines in the summer. They cast farther than coated lines, but I find them hard to hang onto for winter steelheading when my fingers are cold and numb. Coated or braided lines are easier to grip, and I've tried several. Scientific Anglers Monocore is the best I've used. It casts far and seldom tangles. I only wish it also came in 30 to 35 lb. test.
