Description
Overview
A slow-sinking intermediate line, and probably the most useful single line on a lake. It slips just under the surface chop rather than riding on top of it, so a wind lane or a riffled surface stops pushing your line around and dragging the fly off its course.
Fished on a slow retrieve it keeps the fly in the top few feet of the water column, which is where feeding trout spend a great deal of their time. Two textured hang markers are built into the front of the line at 10 and 20 feet, so you can feel and hear where you are in the retrieve, and an audible reference point lets you find the same distance again without watching the line. Once you locate a depth and a retrieve that works, you can repeat it cast after cast.
The head sits in the front section of a 100-foot line, running back through a three-stage front taper into the belly and a rear taper. Built two sizes heavy for quick loading and long leaders, with welded loops on both ends. Finished in a low-visibility Light Grey and Olive Drab, with AST Plus for a slick shoot and SA Line ID printed on the line. A freshwater trout line for cold and medium water, at home on nymphs and streamers. Made in the USA.
