The Orvis Superfine Glass pairs classic fiberglass feel with modern accuracy. Its S-2 fiberglass blank has the slower, deliberate, deep-loading action glass fans love, but with a lighter, crisper feel, noticeably lighter swing weight and better accuracy than traditional glass, thanks to construction and components carried over from the Helios.

Made in the USA on a matte olive blank with a burled hardwood reel seat insert, the Superfine Glass is built for small creeks, spring creeks and close-range trout and panfish, where a deep-bending rod loads instantly and makes every fish feel big.

A bushwhacking creeker's trout and panfish rod for close, tight shots, fine tippets, smaller dry flies and delicate dry-dropper rigs.

3BH35153 - 7'6" 3 wt

Designed for Eastern spring creeks, with bigger dries, short to medium casts and lighter nymph rigs. Reviewers found it slightly faster than traditional glass with quicker recovery, delicate on the presentation and at home on blueline brook trout streams and pocket water.

Best for: spring creeks, blueline brook trout, pocket water.

Line pairing: A 3 wt double taper or delicate trout taper. We recommend the SA Amplitude Textured Double Taper (DT3F) or the SA Amplitude Smooth Creek Trout (WF3F).

3BH45153 - 7'6" 4 wt

Designed for Western creeks and rivers, with medium-length casts, bigger dries and foam bugs, hopper-dropper rigs and lighter nymph rigs.

Best for: Western creeks, hopper-dropper, foam bugs, light nymphing.

Line pairing: A 4 wt trout taper that turns over bigger flies. We recommend the RIO Elite Gold (WF4F) or the SA Amplitude Textured Double Taper (DT4F).

Superfine Glass vs Superfine Graphite

Both are made in the USA at the same price. The Superfine Glass has the slower, deeper-loading fiberglass action and an olive blank with a burled hardwood insert. The Orvis Superfine Graphite uses lower modulus graphite for a slow to moderate action that is a little crisper and more accurate in wind. Choose glass for the classic feel; choose graphite for a touch more precision.

Each rod ships in a nylon rod tube with a cloth sack.

What is the warranty?

Orvis covers its fly rods under the 25-Year Guarantee for the original owner: Orvis repairs a broken rod, or replaces it with a model of equal or greater value if it cannot be repaired. Orvis charges a handling fee for each repair, and lost or stolen rods are not covered.
