Overview
The Sage Maverick was Sage's mid-priced saltwater series from 2020, designed around the reality that flats fishing is more often a game of quick shots than long casts. A powerful tip section drives the casting load down into robust lower sections for fast, accurate presentations, more pulling and lifting power, and an oversized guide set that helps cut down on tangles. Sage has since replaced it with the new Sage Signal, so these are the final Maverick rods we have; when a size is gone, it is gone.
The Maverick is built with Sage Konnetic Technology on a Pacific Blue blank with Charcoal wraps and Light Grey trim. It has oversized Fuji ceramic stripper guides, oversized hard chromed snake guides, a corrosion-resistant Matte Slate anodized aluminum reel seat with an integrated hidden hook keeper, and a super grade full-wells cork grip with a cork and EVA fighting butt. Every model is 9' and 4 pieces, ships in a matte black powder coated aluminum tube, and was built on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
