Sage Trout LL Fly Fishing Rod

DRY FLY / MEDIUM ACTION

Dry fly presentation is the name of the game with the TROUT LL, whether you’re tackling streams large or small. From a prolific PMD hatch on your favorite local creek with the 389-4 to huge Salmonflies on the famed Henry’s Fork with the 690-4, the TROUT LL series has the right rod to ensure that you’re fly is presented delicately and with precision, keeping even the most wary of trout unaware of your presence.

OVERVIEW

With a delicate touch and medium action, the TROUT LL family has been designed with the trout angler and dry flies in mind. Through blank taper optimization and specialized length offerings, the TROUT LL is perfected for wade fishing, closer casts, small flies, and light tippets. A relatively supple tip maximizes light tippet protection and gives way to a smooth easy-loading mid-section that increases feel and feedback throughout the casting stroke. When the hatch is on, the TROUT LL is an angler’s best friend. Drawing inspiration from historic Sage rods of the past, the TROUT LL is a nod toward tradition with a classic appearance and a smooth casting taper, yet adds modern performance features in accuracy and loop control through the backbone of Konnetic HD blank material.

DELICATE PRESENTATIONS

Designed with a medium action for delicate touch, the TROUT LL allows for softer presentations to fish that are sensitive to disruptions in their feeding environments. Perfect for casting those light lines, long leaders, light tippet, and small flies in the zone to impossibly picky eaters.

SUPERIOR TIPPET PROTECTION

A relatively supple tip maximizes tippet protection allowing you to confidently fight and safely land fish on lighter more fragile dry fly tippets.

CLASSIC ROD FEEL

A supple tip gives way to a smooth easy-loading mid-section that increases feel and feedback throughout the casting stroke. Perfected for wade fishing, closer casts, and all kinds of dry flies. It's quintessential fly fishing at it's finest.

KONNETIC HD

KonneticHD Technology is the next era in performance graphite rods. Optimizing our graphite-to-resin ratio, we have created a higher density (HD) fiber composite, resulting in lighter, stronger blanks which deliver unmatched recovery, energy transfer, and line/loop control. Building upon proprietary construction techniques developed for Konnetic Technology, KonneticHD gives us an elevated platform to achieve new levels in rod design.

MADE IN USA

At Sage, craftsmanship is our people. We’re not a big faceless factory, but rather a workplace of craftspeople who design and build the world’s best fly rods and reels using our hands and hearts. We do it by sharing ideas and always asking the next question to find what can be done to make this better. Our rods are built one at time right here on Bainbridge Island, WA, following hundreds of meticulous steps and passing through 23 sets of hands. Our reels are also designed right here, and then precision-crafted with exclusive USA carbon to tolerance only Sage can deliver. We’re out there fishing the same places in the same unforgiving conditions that you are. Craftsmanship is applied experience. Lifetimes of it.
