Scott

Scott at AvidMax

Since Harry Wilson built his first fly rods in a San Francisco basement in 1973, Scott has chased one goal: rods that feel alive in your hand and put the fly exactly where you want it. Every Scott rod is still handcrafted in Montrose, Colorado, and AvidMax carries the lineup from small-stream fiberglass to saltwater flats rods, with real anglers ready to help you pick the right one.

Why fish a Scott fly rod?

Handcrafted in Montrose, Colorado

Scott builds its rods start to finish in its own Colorado shop. Blanks are rolled from custom graphite patterns, guides are wrapped by hand, and each rod is inspected and serial numbered before it ships. That attention to detail is why Scott rods cast so smoothly and hold up season after season.

Natural Finish and modern blank design

Many Scott blanks are left unsanded and unpainted. This Natural Finish keeps every graphite fiber intact, so the rod is lighter and stronger with less swing weight. Multi-modulus layups and Scott's latest thin-wall designs add line speed, stability and accuracy without losing the feel Scott is known for.

Which Scott fly rod is right for you?

  • Scott GT: Scott's lightest trout rods, with a smooth, progressive action for dry flies, light nymphs and technical water (3 to 6 wt).
  • Scott Centric: fast and powerful for distance, wind and streamers, a go-to freshwater rod for big water.
  • Scott Session: medium-fast and versatile for dries, nymphs and streamers, the do-it-all trout rod.
  • Scott Wave: a fast all-water rod that punches through wind and handles heavier lines, fresh or salt.
  • Scott Sector: built for the flats, with quick shots and lifting power for bonefish, permit and tarpon.
  • Scott F Series: fiberglass with a smooth, deep-flexing action for small streams and delicate presentations.
